Hello everyone....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

The children have had lots of fun learning and exploring. They have been very creative with their Easter activities and loved the egg experiment this week. We played some guess the names of the animals and enjoyed our Wiggle me into squiggle activity.

Healthy Movers

This week we are going to do the activity ‘Whatever The Weather’

This is all about stability and balance. The skills are standing, lying, sitting, stopping, landing, balancing, twisting, lunging, bending, stretching and turning.

Please remember the classroom door opens at 8.50, unless it is a stay and play morning.

Where possible can we please work towards dropping your children off at the classroom door. This is to make preparations to move to preschool year 2. This is to promote independence and readiness for the coming year.

We hope you have a really lovely Easter break and look forward to hearing all about your adventures.

Home Learning

  • How many jumps can you do?

  • Can you put on your own shoes/coat?The children are making great progress with this skill.

We will be starting to send out some challenges for you to help your child to complete at home. Feedback can be sent back using a ‘WOW’ The Challenges will help your child to develop to the next level in their learning and skills.

We break up for the Easter holidays on Thursday 28th March and return back to school on Monday 15th April.

If you have not yet returned your sunscreen permission slip, this would also be very helpful.

Please try to leave all home toys at home or in your child’s bag as we struggle to find them if they get lost!

If you have any further questions you can email Zoe on the following email.

z.stockley@princeofwales.dorset.sch.uk

We are a NUT FREE SCHOOL, so please can we remind our families that the children have no products containing nuts in their lunchbox.

Hello everyone.....

Year 1

Hello Everyone,

We have had a great week of learning and the children have really enjoyed exploring colours and shapes.

On Monday we read the story of ‘Spot’ and helping him to find all the colours. The children really enjoyed this and found many more shapes around the classrooms.

On Tuesday we played some colour matching with the compare Bears, this was all about selecting the correct colours and counting how many we had each by the end of the game.

On Wednesday we did a colour hunt in the classroom. The children worked really hard to identify the colours and help each other to collect all the different colours for their trays.

On Thursday we did some mixing of colours on the easel. The main colour the children made was Brown! The children also enjoyed baking some lovely shape biscuits in the afternoon.

On Friday we continued with our colour mixing and had a look to see how many different colours we could find in the garden.

The children have really enjoyed this and gained lots of confidence in the class.

This week we will be doing some Sticky Kids physical action songs which I am sure the children will love.

This week we will be exploring ‘Transport’ . I am sure the children will enjoy this and we have some great activities planned.

Charlie Bear will be continuing to make his adventures home with the children this week. We look forward to reading about what he has been up to over his time with you. If it’s easier you can email any photos to Zoe on the email address below.
